Networking is key to establishing a sustainable insurance brokerage in specialist sectors, according to Jo Sykes, divisional director – broker at Markel.

In her Insurance Post Top Tips video, Sykes recommends:

  • Get out of your comfort zone.
  • Adopt a people-first approach.
  • Deliver sustainable solutions.

She said: “Insurance is a relationships business. Think about how you utilise your people. They are the brand of your organisation.

“Work with people who have similar values that you know you can deliver sustainable solutions with.”
