Homer: Hodges was “only credible” external option

In an exclusive interview with Postonline, outgoing Towergate chief executive Andy Homer has hailed the coup of recruiting Aviva UK CEO Mark Hodges to run the broker - insisting he was the “only credible external option” to succeed him.

Mr Homer said that Mr Hodges was the standout option of “less than ten” serious candidates for the role - many of which were selected by City headhunters.

The statement follows Mr Hodges’ resignation
