European M&A value up 62%, analyst reveals

The value of deals targeting Western European countries has risen by 62 per cent in the last 12 months, according to Zephyr, the M&A database.

A combined total of €58,277 million was recorded in April 2011 compared with €35,994 million in April 2010.

However, volume declined 31% over the 12 months under review, suggesting higher company
