Amlin blames quakes for falling 2010 profits
Lloyd’s insurer Amlin has recorded a profit before tax of £259.2m for 2010 (2009:£509.1m), after £203.6m of losses from both the Chile and New Zealand earthquakes.
The firm noted a return on equity of 13.9% (2009: 37.0%), above our current estimated cost of capital of 8%
The insurer’s investment return was recorded at £175m (2009:£207.5m), equivalent to 4.0% on
