ABI: winter freeze cost insurers £1.4bn
The ABI has stated that total costs for motor and home claims reached £1.4bn during 24 November to 31 December 2010, as the “big freeze” swept across the UK.
The ABI noted 467 000 claims in the period, 190 000 being household and business claims.
Burst pipe claims at £680m marked a 35% increase on the whole of winter 09/10, the ABI added. A total of 103
