Aon: 2011 set to be “challenging” year in aviation
Aon has released preliminary data suggesting that airline insurance endured more claims than premium received in 2010, forecasting further difficulties for 2011/2012.
Lead premium in 2010 looks set to be above $1.9bn, while annual claims of $2.1bn caused a “significant shortfall” for underwriters before reinsurance and fixed costs.
