Esure to stop underwriting Halifax policies
Esure will cease to underwrite Halifax's motor policies after it was bought out by founder Peter Wood from majority stakeholder Lloyds Banking Group in a £185m deal.
The private equity deal, first mooted by Post in June 2008, (www.postonline.co.uk/1238139) saw Mr Wood, backed by Tosca Penta Investments and Electra Partners, acquire the part-nationalised bank's 70%
