Aon unveils new business unit following Benfield deal completion
Aon plans to create a new global specialty business unit – Aon Specialty, it said today. The broking giant said the "strategic move" - a combination of Aon Specialty Risks and Benfield Corporate Risks' specialty division - was designed to take advantage of the firm's decision earlier this year to pull together Aon's $5bn in retail revenue, 26 000 employees and $54bn in annual premium throughput into one global team designed to best serve clients.
"Aon Specialty builds on the momentum of our Benfield acquisition," said Greg Case, president and chief executive officer of Aon Corporation.
