Lancashire shares up as FY results beat estimates

Bermudian specialty insurer Lancashire smashed full-year pretax profit expectations when it reported its results on Monday.

Lancashire said that full-year pretax profit fell to $97.6m in 2008 from $391.9m a year earlier, but still hammered City profits expectations of between $42-72m.
