Berkshire Hathaway earnings drop 7.6%
Berkshire Hathaway has reported net earnings of $2.88bn in the second quarter of 2008, compared to earnings of $3.12bn in the second quarter of 2007.
Net earnings for the first half were $3.8bn, compared to $5.7bn for the first half of 2007.
Operating earnings from insurance underwriting dropped 43% in the second quarter to $360m, down from $632m
