Equitas warning over US asbestos law
Equitas has warned that the proposed Fairness in Asbestos Injury Resolution act, which is being debated in the US Senate at the moment, might drive the company into bankruptcy.
The law, which has been resurrected after stalling in the Senate last year, would create a $140bn trust fund to pay all future US asbestos claims and end the constant drain on US (re)insurers fromOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
