Santander reveals UK insurance ambitions
Spanish banking group Stantander has confirmed it plans to establish a new UK-based insurance company from next year. As revealed in tomorrow's edition of Post , the group's UK subsidiary Abbey said Santander has decided to "leverage the expertise of its global business, creating two new companies in the UK - Santander Insurance UK and Santander Insurance Services UK".
The plans have raised doubts over the future of deals between Abbey and Norwich Union, as well as a long-standing administration contract with Capita.
