$195m Greenlight IPO lapped up by investors

Greenlight Re, the Cayman-based specialty property and casualty reinsurer formed in November 2005, has successfully floated on the Nasdaq with strong investor demand lifting the shares well above the placing price.

The company, founded by successful hedge fund manager David Einhorn, filed for the IPO back in January 2007 and floated 10.25m shares at $19 per share. The issue also included an over-allotment option
