AIG Europe calls for pension scrutiny
AIG Europe (UK) is urging HR directors and pension trustees to examine their pension scheme’s exposure to death-in-service benefits. This is necessitated by the increasing number of life companies who are seeking to cap their total exposure in the event of a major catastrophe killing a large number of employees.
According to AIG Europe, in such situations, employers could be left with significant financial exposure of many millions and the trustees could be in breach of their statutory duty of care.At present
