RSA posts fourth consecutive annual loss

Royal & SunAlliance today reported a loss of £382m for the 12 months ended 31 December 2002 (2002: £871m).

In the UK RSA recorded a underwriting profit of £21m, up £169m on 2002. In the personal lines market RSA added it had reduced its intermediated book - in terms of premium income - by 28%.
