Security questions remain about XML technology
Security remains a problem for those seeking to use XML solutions as a way of achieving data transfer, according to Russell Martin, manager of electronic commerce at XL Re America. Speaking at the Acord/Loma Forum in America he said that there were still questions about how the security would be defined and this was impacting negatively on the take up of the solution. He said that XL has done its own testing in-house but he still considered security had to be ‘beefed up’ before XML could be widely used.
XML (Extensible Mark-up language) has been heralded as the solution to the problem of how all the participants in the insurance buying process can share data but Mr Martin said that although theOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
