CIFAS reports increase in fraud prevention
The 240 plus Members of fraud prevention service CIFAS have reported they prevented fraud losses of £487 million by sharing information on fraudsters through the CIFAS data sharing scheme in 2003.
The figure represents an increase of £126 million or over 35% compared to 2002.False identity fraud and impersonation show the greatest increase over the previous year, with 37% and 32% more CIFAS
