Hurricane Ike claims continue to skyrocket
(BestWire) — Claims from Hurricane Ike continue to skyrocket for the nation's largest property insurer but one catastrophe risk modeler has reduced its estimated onshore and offshore insured losses.
State farm spokesman Jeff McCollum said that as of midday Sept. 18 the company has received 121,180 homeowners claims as a result of Ike, which struck Galveston, Texas, on Sept. 13.
