Munich Re estimates $500m of pretax losses from Gustav and Ike
Munich Re, the Germany-based reinsurance giant, said that it is expecting $500m of pretax losses from hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
It added that it expects losses from Gustav of $100m and Ike of $400m.
The group added that it is expecting the hurricanes to "give rise to market losses" of $20bn. It estimates that Gustav, which hit
