Texas approves 12.3% increase for Texas Windstorm Insurance Association
(BESTWIRE) - In an attempt to establish rates that are better suited to cover claims, the Texas insurance commissioner has exceeded a mandated cap on rate increases for the state's insurer of last resort for windstorm coverage.
Commissioner Mike Geeslin has approved a 12.3% rate increase for residential properties under the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association to continue a "long-term goal to build up the financial strength
