DTI sets 12 week deadline for warranty retailers
The Department for Trade and Industry has announced better protection for consumers taking out extended warranties will come into force in April. Retailers now have 12 weeks to make the changes necessary to comply with the new laws.
Proposals to offer more clarity to consumers considering buying an extended warranty were first published by the DTI in July 2004. They followed a report by the Competition Commission which concludedOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
