Merricks given Bila presidency

Walter Merricks, the chief financial services Ombudsman, has agreed to serve as president of the British Insurance Law Association. In an announcement today, Lord Justice Rix, a judge of the Court of Appeal with considerable experience in insurance law, will take over as deputy president.

Jacquetta Castle, of law firm Pinsent Masons, has been elected chairman and Julian Burling, general counsel to Lloyd’s, has been elected deputy chairman.
