Everest Re Q3 operating income plunges
Everest Re, the Bermudian (re)insurer, said that third quarter operating income fell to $12.6m, compared to operating income of $232.5m in the third quarter of 2007. For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, operating income nearly halved to $383.2m compared to $713.7m a year earlier.
The group reported a net loss for the quarter of $233.1, down from a profit of $246.6m this time last year. Everest’s net loss for the first nine months of the year fell to $2.2m, down from an $827m
