As the trial continues to pour over witness testimony, Southwark Crown Court has had some fascinating insights into working life at Independent during its latter days. As Ralph Savage reports, much of the evidence has focused on the intense pressure imposed by the management on claims handlers to continually reassess reserves and find savings, which the prosecution say contributed to the insurer's demise
Last Friday, the former group claims director at Independent Insurance, Patricia Clarkson, completed her testimony after enduring intense cross-examination from the defendants' barristers.
