Lloyd's corporate vehicle Sedgwick Oakwood Capital (SOC) has bought
the third largest members' agency at Lloyd's, Sedgwick Oakwood Lloyd's
Underwriting Agency (SOLUA), from the Sedgwick Group. SOLUA advises
capacity of around £340m ($547m) for the 1999 year of account. SOC has two
corporate members that underwrite on a spread basis with capacity of
around £70m for this year. The deal requires the approval of the Sedgwick
Group's parent, Marsh & McLennan Companies.
