Penny Black’s Insurance Week - 26 February

During a recent elegant evening out at the rather fine dining establishment and purveyor of seasonal British grub Hix Soho, Penny was thrilled to discover that her hosts – the lovely folk from Tesco Insurance – were as keen to sample new culinary delights as she is.

Upon the arrival at the table of one of the party’s main course of steak accompanied by bone marrow, it was swiftly decided that all members of the group should try some of the fatty treat, at which point the marrow – presented beautifully in a bone – was passed around the table for everyone to savour. Unfortunately, it was not to Penny’s palate, being rather too overpowering for such a sensitive soul; she is much more suited to more traditional flavours such as foie gras and white gold caviar. Luckily her Tesco Insurance hosts agreed, and gin jelly shots and glasses of whisky were served alongside the pudding course in order to eliminate the lingering flavour – and to facilitate the continuation of being merry, of course. Penny believes her hosts kept the drinks flowing until the wee hours, but she had to return home to get her 10 hours’ beauty sleep, naturally.
