The final stages of the proposed Road Safety Bill are keenly anticipated but, as Alison Wood explains, while many are happy with its intentions there are those that believe the penalties it sets out do not go far enough

The Road Safety Bill is a rare piece of draft legislation in that it has support from political parties, the insurance industry and road safety organisations.

Its aim is to make roads safer and reduce
