Flash flooding hits south west Japan

Intense rainfall in south west Japan has resulted in flash flooding and landslides, according to catastrophe modelling firm RMS.

Intense rainfall over the 24 hours from 12:00 UTC on 11 July has resulted in landslides and flash flooding in southwest Japan as rivers burst their banks.

The worst affected areas were the Kumamoto
