Butterworth leaves Liberty for start up

Pembroke Managing Agency has appointed Liberty Syndicates chief operating officer Mark Butterworth as managing director with effect from 1 November 2007.

Before joining Liberty he was group insurance risk manager at Prudential plc. In his new role Pembroker said Mr Butterwroth's main responsibility will be the further development of the managing agency

Lloyd’s profits fall to £3.5bn

Lloyd’s profit before tax fell from £4.2bn in the first half of 2025 to £3.5bn in the first six months of 2026, as lower investment returns offset a "strong" underwriting performance.
