British Insurance Awards Q&A: James MacBeth, Auto Windscreens
Ahead of the 2025 British Insurance Awards, James MacBeth, managing director of Auto Windscreens, reflects on why it is supporting the event and what he is looking forward to on the big night.
You’re sponsoring the Personal Lines Insurer of the Year award this year – what inspired you to get involved in this category specifically?
We got involved because we recognise the partnerships we have with insurers are invaluable. We want to celebrate the success of the best of the best and fly the flag for exceptional customer service in personal lines.
Tell us a little about your organisation and how you’re currently supporting the insurance industry.
We believe Auto Windscreens is one of the best vehicle glazing repair, replacement and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration providers in the UK. We’re proud to work with our motor insurance partners and share our insights and data on new vehicles and the latest technological advances. This helps them keep their finger on the pulse of the latest developments in the industry and aids decision-making.
What trends are you seeing in the wider market that give you optimism about the direction of the industry?
ADAS is a huge and fast-moving market, and alongside developments in electric vehicles and new models coming in from Asia in particular, it’s a very exciting industry to be in.
How do events like the British Insurance Awards help drive positive change and recognition across the sector?
In this industry, communication is key. The BIAs provide an ideal environment, bringing people together to talk about best practice, as well as to share challenges and how to overcome them together.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s awards?
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying a great night and celebrating together. It’s all about getting away from the day-to-day at a wonderful event with some great people, to continue building great relationships.
Is there a message you’d like to share with this year’s finalists and the wider insurance community?
I want to wish all the finalists the very best of luck. The winner in this category has achieved a massive accolade and shown what it takes to deliver exceptional service. I look forward to seeing you all there.
