Matthew Renshaw, sustainability consultant, major and complex loss at Crawford & Company, discusses the firm’s success in the ESG – Sustainability Initiative of the Year category at the 2024 British Insurance Awards.
He tells Insurance Post content director Jonathan Swift about the firm’s ‘zero-to-landfill’ sustainable soil initiative, focusing on the “re-use, re-purposing and recycling” of waste generated on property claims.
Renshaw outlines the benefits for customers, explaining how the initiative was designed to enhance customer experience and limit disruption, particularly on environmental claims. On the back of its success, Crawford has also rolled out the initiative to other parts of the business, driving additional savings in carbon reduction and costs.
