Markel estimates $503m of Q3 natcat losses
Global (re)insurer Markel is expecting $503m (£379m) of pre-tax hurricane and earthquake losses, net of reinstatement premiums, in the third quarter of 2017.
The losses are related to the Caribbean and US hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria as well as September’s Mexico City earthquakes.
