XL expects $75m loss from 2016 New Zealand earthquake

XL's preliminary net natural catastrophe loss estimate for the fourth quarter of 2016 is approximately $245m (£200m).

Losses contributing to this estimate include approximately $130m in net losses from Hurricane Matthew split approximately evenly between insurance and reinsurance, and close to $75m in net losses from
