EU Commission approves Flood Re
The European Commission has agreed that Flood Re does not violate rules on state aid by seeking to ensure the availability of low cost flood cover.
The EU had raised concerns that because Flood Re would be partially funded by an industry-wide levy, it may confer an advantage to the pool over competing reinsurers through state aid.
