Average motor policy saw £51 drop in 2014

The average cost of a new comprehensive UK motor insurance policy fell by £51 in 2014 to £594, despite late year price increases, according to the Towers Watson and Confused insurance price index.

New comprehensive premiums rose by an average of 2%, or £12, in the fourth quarter of 2014, but fell by 7.9% over the year as a whole. This follows annual decreases of 12.5% and 12.7% in 2013 and 2012
