Impact on market uncertain after commission ban on indemnity policies

Upfront commission payments on long-term indemnity policies are to be banned in Hong Kong from 1 January 2015.

The investment linked policies are often sold for 15 years with around 8% of the commission being paid to brokers or independent financial agents upfront.
