Axa reports 33% earnings increase for UK business

Axa UK and Ireland recorded a 33% increase in underlying earnings for the first half of 2014 to £118m from £89m the year prior.

General insurance revenues rose 2% to £2bn and the GI combined ratio improved marginally from 98.7% in the first half of 2013 to 98.2% this year.
