Tourism Authority of Thailand launches travel insurance

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has teamed up with four Thailand insurers to offer online travel insurance.

Thailand Travel Shield offers tourists with 2m baht ($64 000) of coverage for up to a year in the country.

It is designed to give travellers reassurance after the military coup in May. The policy is
