SRA in the dark on solicitor closures after 'non-cooperation'

Efforts to determine the number of solicitors that must close after being unable to obtain professional indemnity cover have been hampered by "an extreme lack of cooperation", according to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Firms were supposed to notify the SRA by 29 December on whether or not they were able to find a carrier willing to provide cover during the cessation period and the final numbers were expected to be
