Sumatran earthquake unlikely to see significant insured losses
AIR Worldwide is not expecting significant insured losses following Tuesday’s magnitude 6.1 earthquake in Sumatra.
This is because of the location of the earthquake – 55km west of Bireun, which has a population of 2600 – and the small amount of earthquake insurance in the region.
