EU retreat on insurance VAT exemption reform
The European Union has announced that it is unlikely to push forward with the reform and simplification of the VAT exemption on insurance and the wider financial services industry.
The current rules - which set VAT on insurance at zero across Europe - were designed in the 1970s.
TMF VAT & IPT Services said that this had failed to keep up with the evolution of the industry and
