Insurers face up to $2bn tornado bill

Eqecat has estimated that the latest series of severe weather events in the US has produced $1bn to $2bn in insured losses.

Over 150 tornadoes touched down in two distinct systems between 28 February and 3 March, the majority occurring in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Alabama.
