Sky-high cost of class actions.

The government has introduced measures to facilitate the bringing of group actions to court - for example, the recent case concerning deep vein thrombosis. This has met with great resistance from insurers, who stand to lose a great deal, says Nicola Loadsman.

The government's active encouragement of representative actions has met with unexpectedly fierce resistance, forcing it to reconsider how these types of claims can be facilitated. This comes at a time
