Insurance veteran Sir David Brewer dies

Sir David Brewer, a former Lord Mayor of the City London and former president of the Insurance Institute of London, has died aged 83.

Brewer’s career in insurance spanned more than 50 years and he remained an ambassador for the industry throughout his life.

He started his career in 1959 at Sedgwick and opened the group’s Japan
