Spanish Football Federation to run World Cup €14.6m prize indemnity risk uninsured

Spanish insurance industry publisher Inese has reported that the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided not to buy prize indemnity insurance and to run its €14.6m in World Cup player and management bonus incentives uninsured after failing to gain attractive terms from contingency (re)insurance markets.

Under the federation’s bonus scheme all 23 squad players and four members of the technical team will receive a total of €540,000 apiece if Spain wins the World Cup in Germany, €360,000 if they are
