Douetil praises discipline
Brit Insurance chief executive Dane Douetil this week credited disciplined underwriting as the reason the firm managed to stay in the black.
Overall, the group recorded a profit before tax of £6.8m for the first half of 2011 (H1 2010: £77.5m) and a combined ratio — excluding the effect of foreign exchange on non-monetary items — of 104.8%
