Japan nuclear accident “worst in 25 years”
The nuclear accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant in Japan caused by last week’s earthquake is the “worst in 25 years”, catastrophe modelling firm RMS has claimed.
Efforts to avert nuclear meltdown at the plant continue, and water cannons are now being used to spray the at-risk reactors. The potential impacts of released radiation remains highly uncertain.
