CEO round up: How were the noughties for you?

Adrian Brown

Part one of Post's look back at what insurance bosses made of 2000 - 09.

With little more than a week to go until the end of the decade, Post asked a number of senior insurance figures what the noughties were like for them.

This is how they responded

Paul Geddes, CEO, RBS Insurance

While this has been a year of ups and down for the economy and the insurance industry, we have come to the end of the decade strongly positioned to build on the success we've achieved so far and to capitalise on new opportunities.

Adrian Brown, CEO, RSA

Personally the decade has ended with me in a job I consider to be the best job in the UK insurance market, so pretty good. From a business perspective I'm proud to work for a company that started the decade in a difficult position but has ended it as one of the strongest well capitalised in the market.

Richard Pryce, President Ace UK

Plenty of challenges and opportunities and very enjoyable.

Steve Lewis, CEO, UK General Insurance, Zurich

Quick. So much has happened both as a company - complete turnaround under the leadership of Jim Schiro - and personally (UK to Australia to Switzerland and now back to the UK). Hopefully the "10s" will be a little calmer - but I doubt it!
