Event Insurance Services has been appointed as an insurance partner for the Eden Project’s new initiative, The Big Lunch, to provide liability cover for street parties all over the UK.
The Big Lunch, which is due to take place on 19 July across the UK, is inviting the UK population to simultaneously sit down to eat and enjoy a lunch with their neighbours, in the middle of their street, tower block or field as an act of community.
Lucy Scurlock-Jones, Event Insurance Services managing director, commented: “We are thrilled to be involved with this new initiative and have offered special discounted rates for public liability insurance for Big Lunch organisers. Some local councils may require cover to be taken out, but if this isn’t the case our policy will provide peace of mind on the day for the hundreds of street parties taking place.”
The PL cover protects legal liability to pay for compensation and claimant's costs and expenses for accidental bodily injury, accidental loss of or damage to property sustained by members of the public and occurring in connection with any Big Lunch Street Party.Cover also extends to the provision of food, drink, entertainment, music, games and bunting.
