Ifed reports surge in opportunistic fraud
The City of London Police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department has reported a growing number of people making fraudulent insurance claims as a result of cost-of-living pressures.
Cases of opportunistic fraud reported to the City of London Police from March 2022 to April 2023 rose by 61% from the previous period.
Motor insurance fraud was the most common type of opportunistic
